Accelerator Physics group at the University Hamburg

Florian Grüner

The Institute of Experimental Physics at University Hamburg is involved in heading up projects to develop new accelerator technologies. This work takes place in close cooperation with DESY and its partners all over the world. The students, graduates, postgraduates and scientists in the research group are responsible for posing and trying to answer challenging questions relating to the new accelerator projects at DESY, for example the internationally unique free-electron laser (FEL) FLASH, the European x-ray free electron laser project (European XFEL) and the storage ring PETRA III, as well as the new field of laser-plasma acceleration.
